We have optimised the user interface of the Medical Devices Information System to incorporate the new features.
Quicker submission of completed forms
You can now skip sections of forms in order to submit final, completed (and error-free) versions of forms to the competent authorities. These forms are indicated by the new status "noch zu bearbeiten (vollständig)" (still to be processed (complete)) on the user interface. This distinguishes them from incomplete forms which are marked "noch zu bearbeiten" (still to be processed).
A new button "zur Kontrolle" (for checking) will appear in the first section each time a previously completed form is retrieved. This leads you to the checking section, from where you will be able to submit the notification/application directly to the competent authority. By applying for clinical investigations to be approved, for example, you are able to skip six sections of the form.
You can only skip form sections, however, if the data remains unchanged. Otherwise each individual form section must be retrieved in order for a validity check of the data to be carried out.
E-mail information when a form is retracted
From September 2010 you will be informed by e-mail when you re-open a form for processing which has already been forwarded to the competent authority. This e-mail is to remind you to submit the form to the authority once more. You will recognise this form by the new status "zurückgenommen" (retracted) (previously "zurückgezogen" (withdrawn)).
Search results are retained
You can filter forms for processing from a larger quantity according to various search criteria. From September 2010 the forms you have selected will be retained, even if you are working on individual forms in the mean time. You can return to your chosen forms by clicking on the button "zur Bearbeitung" (processing).
Your search criteria will only be lost if you switch to a different module (e.g. from notifications of medical devices to notifications of in vitro diagnostics).
