CCAM and PCS are undergoing evaluation as candidate to substitute OPS in the future.

CCAM - Classification Commune Des Actes Médicaux

CCAM stands for "Classification commune des actes médicaux". CCAM is a multi-axial procedure classification developed in France. It is to be introduced in France in January 2003 for stationary and outpatient care.

CCAM and further information is available in French from PMSI (Programme de Médicalisation des Systèmes d’Information).

PCS - Procedure Coding System

 "Procedure Coding System" is a comprehensive classification of medical and surgical procedures developed in the United States of America. It is frequently called "ICD-10-PCS" as it was developed in relation to ICD-10.
