Ordering the German MeSH Translation

The German language version of MeSH is supplied on CD-ROM in XML file format and additionally in CSV format as a database version.
The complete MeSH information stock in the XML file is very large and can only be usefully processed using XML compatible software. In selecting a suitable program you are not obliged to use this file format. For example, the data items must be dragged out using XSLT, when required for own applications.

The databank version in CSV format is suitable for import to relational database systems. The description of the data arrays and the requisite SQL instructions can be found in the supplied readme file.

Here you will find Demo versions of MeSH with a restricted scope of information to allow testing for processing:

• MeSH 2009 Demo Version in CSV format (ZIP, 343 kB)

You can acquire the German MeSH as a one-time order or on subscription (annual updates) by returning the Nutzungsvertrag (PDF, 52 kB) to us. An English version of the User Contract (PDF, 54 kB) is available for your convenience. Since the obligatory contractual language is German, kindly fill in and return the German version in dublicate. Please do not forget to mark the extent of use in section 4 ; otherwise, it is not possible to process the contract.

The charges for the initial purchasing of the German MeSH amount to

• € 500, if you use the German MeSH in-house for companies or institutes only ; the annual updates may be purchased on subscription for € 100 each per year.
• € 1,000, if you want to use the German MeSH for non-commercial purposes, outside of your company or facility, as well, (non profit projects); the annual updates may be purchased on subscription for € 200 each per year.
• € 5,000, if you want to use the German MeSH for commercial purposes; the annual updates may be purchased on subscription for € 1,000 each per year.

Public facilities get a 20 % discount, provided the agreed use is regulated by a public contract. All prices do not include the applicable statutory value added tax.
