Ordering the German MeSH

The German MeSH can be ordered as a single yearly version or as a subscription (with annual updates). The CD-ROM contains two formats: an XML file and a database version in CSV format. You can use the free trial versions to learn more about the formats.

User Contract

To order the German MeSH, please fill out the licence agreement:

User Contract MeSH (PDF, 121 kB)

Completely fill out the agreement. Please do not forget to select the scope of use in Section 4; otherwise it will not be possible for us to process the agreement. Send 2 copies of the signed agreement to DIMDI, Waisenhausgasse 36-38a, 50676 Cologne, Germany.

Fees

You can order the German MeSH as a single yearly version or as a subscription. A "subscription" means that you must initially purchase the MeSH at the basic price; and in each subsequent year you will always receive the annual updated version for the reduced subscription price.

See the user contract for further information.

Structure of the CD-ROM

The MeSH in the XML file is very large and can only be usefully processed using XML compatible software. In selecting a suitable program you are not obliged to use this file format. For example, the data items must be dragged out using XSLT, when required for own applications.

The CSV format is suitable for import to relational database systems. The description of the data arrays and the requisite SQL instructions can be found in the supplied readme file.

Free trial versions

You can use the free, significantly restricted trial versions of the MeSH to learn more about the different formats:
