Advantages for Premium Users

There are many advantages connected to a Licence Agreement with DIMDI: Low-priced documents, access to all public databases and specific fields, as well as numerous additional options which simplify your search.

Advantages of Databases Offer

Premium Users have unrestricted access to the entire database offer of DIMDI. More than 60 databases are available for extensive and scientifically sound searches regarding medical literature, pharmaceutical facts or the latest news.

For the time being the following databases are available for Premium Users only:

• ABDA-Datenbanken
• Medizinprodukte - Öffentlicher Teil

Only Premium Users can open all databases of a specific field (superbase) with a click to search simultaneously.

Price Advantages

The prices for online access to fee-based documents, e.g. abstracts on medical literature are reduced an average of 14 percent compared to searches without a contract and payments by credit card. This is a significant advantage, despite administration fees and costs for opening the database, especially during extensive searches and the accessing of numerous documents. (The price advantages do not apply to MEDLINE or to online literature orders). Usually the online call of complete magazine articles (full texts) is clearly more favorable for Premium Customers, which originate from the public range, than with the search without contract.

Premium Users receive a quarterly invoice with a detailed utilisation report that is easy to follow. This is an important advantage for regular and extensive searches compared with individual billings for each retrieval query.
Furthermore, Premium Users also have the possibility to pay by direct debit.

Search Function Advantages

Only Premium Users may use the command language DIMDI ClassicSearch for their professional and extensive searches.

Certain search functions, both with DIMDI SmartSearch and DIMDI ClassicSearch, are reserved for Premium Users:

• Automatic determination of keywords
• Automatic elimination of duplicates when searching in serveral databases simultaneously
• Setting up standing orders for standard searches on certain subjects in all databases. This is only possible in MEDLINE without a contract.
• Statistical evaluations of search results (e.g. reference analysis)
• Output format XML: In addition to the formats ASCII, HTML and IMPORT, XML is also available to output documents; send search results via e-mail or within a standing order. With a defined XML pattern you can not only examine the correctness of a document but also be sure that the data between two different applications are exchangeable.
