EMBASE Alert (EA08)

EMBASE Alert is a high-speed preliminary database of the EMBASE database. It contains the most current proofs of international literature with European focus on the total area of the human medicine and related fields which will be incorporated into EMBASE fully indexed a few weeks later. Contents and sources are the same as in EMBASE. Bibliographic information and abstracts (approx. 80 %) are searchable. EMBASE Alert only covers documents of the last eight calendar weeks. The data of the oldest week is replaced weekly (no accummulation).

Special Notes

EMBASE Alert is an extremely current alerting file to database EMBASE. It offers the same comprehensive coverage as EMBASE. The bibliographic citations with English-language abstracts and authors keywords are online available already after 7 days of receipt of the journals by Excerpta Medica. The records appear a few weeks later as fully indexed, high value-added EMBASE records. In crossfile searching of EMBASE and EMBASE Alert an elimination of duplicates is always necessary. EMBASE Alert is a rolling 8-week database.

Standing orders (SDI) are possible for Premium customers.

AB: The dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker lercanidipine and the ACE inhibitor enalapril are frequently used in the treatment of hypertensive patients. In April 2007, a fixed-dose combination of the two drugs was approved in Germany for the treatment of patients not responding to monotherapy. It is expected that the drug will soon be available in the other European Union markets. In this review the present literature is summarized. Two doses will be available with 10 mg lercanidipine each and 10 or 20 mg enalapril. The medication should be taken once daily, optimally >=15 minutes before a meal and the consumption of grapefruit juice should be avoided.  ...
