Detailed Information: Deutsches Ärzteblatt (AR96)
The database Deutsches Ärzteblatt is a bibliographic database whose documents are linked with the corresponding original full texts. The database contains bibliographic data and section headings belonging to documents from the homonymous journal by the Publisher Deutscher Ärzteverlag since 1996. | TEXT: | Ein Algorithmus kann die Unterscheidung von Influenza, "grippalem Infekt" und SARS erleichtern. Akute respiratorische Erkrankungen gehören zur täglichen Routine in Klinik und Praxis. Ihr Management stützt sich auf etablierte diagnostische und therapeutische Erfahrungen sowie antiepidemische Standards. Eine neue Situation ist durch das Auftreten des „Schweren Akuten Respiratorischen Syndroms“ (SARS) entstanden, da es sich hierbei um eine Erkrankung mit hoher Kontagiosität handelt, deren Morbidität und Letalität nicht unerheblich sind. Es war reiner Zufall, dass sich die um die Jahreswende 2002/2003 heftige Influenza-Epidemie (in Deutschland circa 4,5 bis fünf Millionen Influenza-assoziierte Arztkonsultationen, etwa 30 000 Krankenhauseinweisungen sowie circa 16 000 Todesopfer) und die SARS-Epidemie weltweit nicht überschnitten; SARS wurde erst am Ausklingen der Influenza-Epidemie ein weltweites Problem.
