Databases: MEDLINE annual adaptation phase 2012

Oct 31, 2011

As from 16th November 2011 until the end of the year, the National Library of Medicine (NLM) will only provide limited updates for MEDLINE. Annual maintenance of the database will be performed during this period, with errors in the documents being eliminated and the indexing being switched over to the revised MeSH 2012 (Medical Subject Headings).

No updates will be performed for documents with MEDLINE status, since documents indexed with MeSH descriptors are involved in this case. Corresponding standing orders with DIMDI will therefore only yield documents again after reloading of the database in January 2012.

Not affected are the non-indexed MEDLINE alert documents. They will continue to be included in the database and taken into account accordingly in standing orders.

We will inform you in good time of the end of the annual adaptation phase and of the innovations in MEDLINE.
