Cochrane Library: New prices for Cochrane Library from October

Jun 30, 2010

From 1 October 2010 search and document output is free of host charges. We only pass on the database producer license fees.

In three databases the previous charges are dropped. Only full texts from Cochrane Library - CDSR (Cochrane Reviews) are dearer due to increased producer license fees.

From October free of host charges:

  • Cochrane Library - Central (Bibliography of controlled clinical trials)
  • NHS Economic Evaluation Database (NHSEED, bibliographic details and evaluation of economic studies in health care)
  • NHS-CRD-DARE (structured summaries from systematic reviews): Full texts which previously had to be paid for are also available free of charge as abstracts directly in the database document.

The databases Cochrane Library - CDSR and NHS-CRD-HTA (INAHTA) were already free of charge.

The database producer has increased the prices for full texts of Cochrane Library - CDSR (reviews of all relevant studies to a therapeutic topic). They are available in improved format as PDF files and cost inclusive of VAT 23.92 € instead of previously around 6 €. Search and output of database documents inclusive of abstracts remain however free of charge.

The new prices apply from 1 October 2010 for Premium Users and customers without a license agreement.
