If necessary, adjust your standing orders and searches with DIMDI. MEDLINE records will now be included as part of the regular daily updates for EMBASE. Thus, you will avoid costs that from June 30th, 2010 arise due to the additional documents from simultaneous searches in MEDLINE and EMBASE.
MEDLINE documents in EMBASE
You can recognise the new documents by the entry "MEDLINE" in the Subunit (SU) data field. In the DIMDI ClassicSearch, you can search for it by using the command FIND SU=MEDLINE. In the DIMDI SmartSearch, you must use the advanced search for this purpose and enter SU=MEDLINE in the input line.
Additional features of the MEDLINE documents in EMBASE:
Avoid costs with standing orders and searches
To exclude MEDLINE documents from EMBASE for standing orders or searches, use the Boolean operator "NOT" when using the search formulation SU=MEDLINE. When carrying out a simultaneous search in MEDLINE and EMBASE, you can reduce your costs by using the command before removing the duplicates.
You can refer to our instructions to adjust your standing orders or stored search archives in the DIMDI ClassicSearch and in the DIMDI SmartSearch (see link below).
In order to avoid receiving modified old documents, always set up your standing orders for the most recent annual segment of a database (here: EM05).
