By implementing the new output format BASIC we accommodate the wishes of many users who will now be able to process their documents even more conveniently.
At DIMDI, you can display database documents directly on the screen or you can have them sent to you via e-mail. These are bibliographical information and abstracts in case of literature databases such as MEDLINE or EMBASE, or data in factual databases like AMIS - Öffentlicher Teil (Public Part) or ABDA-Fertigarzneimittel.
Documents from literature databases also contain a link with different options and information on how to get the original publication. Not everybody needs this convenient way to get full texts. Several users even had to remove this information manually – but that's not necessary any more. The new output format BASIC dispenses with the full text link. Furthermore, the documents no longer contain price information. Apart from that, BASIC corresponds to the standard output format.
If you use DIMDI SmartSearch, choose BASIC prior to displaying or sending the search result in the "HTML" pull-down menu below the title list. If you use DIMDI ClassicSearch, select SHOW REPORT=BASIC or MAIL REPORT=BASIC. The same applies to standing orders.
Do you always want to apply the new output format BASIC when using DIMDI ClassicSearch? If so, use the DEFINE command to adjust your pre-configuration for SHOW, MAIL and SDI commands:
Use INFO SET to view your personal pre-configuration. An overview of all possible output formats can be found at www.dimdi.de – Database Search - Service – Output Formats (Link see below).
All Premium Users can apply regular search queries as standing orders which will automatically be carried out within the chosen interval. The overview of your standing orders now contains the new column "Term" (UNTIL). This way you can immediately see the terms of your standing orders and whether they have to be renewed.
The overview of your standing orders can be found in DIMDI SmartSearch under "Standing Orders – View/Modify", in DIMDI ClassicSearch by using the INFO SDI command.
Do you want to check the search or formal order data (such as output format or e-mail address for search results)? Just click the name of the order (DIMDI SmartSearch) or enter the name of the order (DIMDI ClassicSearch, INFO SDI=order name): You'll get an overview with detailed information on the selected standing order.
