The flexibility of the HL7 standard makes it easy to construct a Hl7 messages that have correct syntax, but with less than optimal semantics. The HL7-Lint program is a very tentative first step at attempting to find and report some of these issues. This initial offering of HL7-Lint program is limited in scope to looking for UNITS that are out of place. The HL7-Lint program is a standalone Windows program. To use the program, you will need to download and install the program on your Windows PC. You will also need to supply files of HL7 messages for the program to process. We've tried to make the user interface simple and intuitive. However, you will still want to read the supplied user manual to learn of the available features of the program.
